Vendella

We acquired Vendella because of her pedigree, her temperament and the qualities she passes on to her foals.

Out of renown lines of Dutch Warmblood and Gelderlander lines well known for their abilities and versatility as well as their quiet and trainable temperament Vendella is an excellent representative of her breed.

We find in her pedigree horses competing at the highest level of the sport. Highlight (GP-jumping), Argus (who competed at GP-dressage and GP-jumping in the same season) Palfrenier and Patrick both international GP jumpers and Vulcaan and accomplished dressage horse. Lots of talent, ability, power and rideability to be found in those tested and proven lines.

The quiet strength of this mare is almost magical. She is like a St-Bernard: calm, attentive, loyal and the whole package backed by incredible physical strength.

Her wonderful qualities are passed on to her foals. To have an idea of the quality she produces take a minute to see Maxamillion at www.goldenventurefarm.com

We think her foals have the ideal combination of excellent physical characteristics combined with a temperament that allows you to train them yourself.

Vendella has been bred to Dacaprio

for an April 2009 foal.

For Vendella’s 2009 foal we have chosen to pair her with the very modern Hanoverian stallion Dacaprio.

About Dacaprio

Dacaprio combines the appreciated talents of Davignon by Donnerhall (30 liscence sons and 64 state premium mares) and the refining and talented Caprimond (Trakehner) genetics whose prepotency is widely recognized.

Up to 2007 Dacaprio was standing at Hengststation Jens Meyer in Germany and was used and appreciated by european breeders. He is well known for producing great impulsion, high elasticity, enormous rideability, himself having been ridden mostly by women and is especially noted for producing modern type in his offsprings. Successful offspring include: FBW Dejavu, Reserve Champion of the 2004 Southern Germany Championships and winner of the Bundeschampionate  (Federal Championships of Young Horses) in Warendorf. Braveheart (show jumping) and Didi le grand (eventing) and Del Mondo who, like his sire Dacaprio, won the German Hanoverian Riding Horse Championships. Another daughter, Daylight, received third place honors at this prestigious Riding Horse Championship. Both Del Mondo and Daylight qualified for the Bundeschampionate.

Dacaprio has sired two licensed sons and more than 20 State Premium mares to date. He has the high breeding value of 140 and belongs to the top 100 dressage sires of the German National Equestrian Federation (FN).

In 2006, Dacaprio was the sire of the Gold medal foal at six foal shows in Baden-Wurttemberg. Because his offspring were highly esteemed and he himself was successful in M/A-level dressage tests, Dacaprio was awarded a Main Premium from the South German Warmblood Federation.

Déesse

Deesse brings to our farm some of the best performing blood of the Dutch Warmbloods and Holsteiner. Her sire Olympic Ferro, the “black pearl” of Holland started his career as a show jumper, no surprise really considering that his sire and grand sire are well known for producing jumpers. However it would be in Dressage that Ferro would truly make his mark. His rhythm, suppleness, the quality of his passage and his piaffe made his reputation and earned him a silver medal at the Olympic games.

On Deesse’s dam side we find the great show jumper Saluut II (www.horse-repro.com/saluut.html) who, paired with Margie Engle, was one of the most successful show jumper in North America. He is AHSA-approved Dutch stallion representing a double outcross to the Ramzes line. Saluut II was AHSA "Open Jumper Horse of the Year" in 1989, AGA "Horse of the Year" and held the record for most money won in a year. Saluut II was the winner of 16 Grand Prix competitions in one year and was on many winning Nation Cup teams. Sauut II is the sire of AHSA "Horse of the Year" Resaluution, Synergy Absoluut Dream, Hidden Creek's Solitare  many others. Saluut (born Rebell) his sire, was a 100-day performance tested Holsteiner stallion by Ronald and an international Grand Prix show jumper. He received excellent marks in his Dutch performance test and was graded at the highest level.

On the maternal side we find the necessary thoroughbred blood with Gauchesco a black Argentinian  sire widely used by the RCMP breeding program.

Deesse is a friendly, energetic athlete that loves to be in motion. She demonstrates very high rideability. She is supple and agile and has boyant forward gaits and a great jump. The quality of her pedigree definitely shine trough. She was the Potomac Region Champion as a 4 year old and had a very promising career ahead of her when an unfortunate pasture accident injured her stifle preventing her from continuing in a performance career.

Deesse was bred by Limstone Stables in Ontario (http://www.limestonestables.com)

Déesse has been bred to Idocus

for an April 2009 foal.

For Déesse’s 2009 foal we have chosen to pair her with the accomplished dressage stallion Idocus.

About Idocus

Idocus was bred and born in the Netherlands, then imported to the United States as a weanling. In 1991 he placed 4th in the "Top Ten" yearlings of the Dutch Keurings. In 1993 Idocus became the Grand Champion and held the highest jumping score of all the stallions at his 100 Day Test out of 18 stallions. He has the distinction of holding the highest score given in the North American Dutch Keurings - 99AA!!  Scores: Walk 9, Trot 8.5, Canter 9.5, Jumping 9, Character 9

Idocus, is considered to be one of the best dressage stallions in sport right now, competing in the 2004 Athens Olympics on the 4th placed Dutch team. He is a very consistent and successful sire, producing offspring known for their supple movement, excellent temperaments having great rideability. His foal report states:

“Idocus showed a uniform collection of appealing, riding type offspring that are in more than sufficient rectangular model. The head is well shaped and very expressive. The poll is well shaped and has good length. The neck is shaped well and has more than sufficient length and muscling. The wither is more than sufficient to well developed and sufficiently long. The shoulder generally has good length and positioning. The connection from the back to the loins is good. The croup has sufficient length and good placement. The hamstring is sufficiently long. The trot is generally sufficient in scope, supple and the Idocus foals carry themselves well. The good use of the body is very noticeable. Once in a while the foreleg should move out more. The use of the hindleg is generally good. The development of the offspring in the age of foal to four-year old varies a little but is generally sufficient. “

Idocus serviced all sorts of mares: American Thoroughbreds, KWPN mares and old-fashioned Hanoverian. The uniformity, especially of the forehand and the manner of movement, is very remarkable. He clearly puts his stamp on his offspring. Idocus has many offsprings competing successful in Dressage, Hunters, Jumpers and Eventing. This versatility may be attributed to Idocus’s pedigree. Idocus inherited his dressage talent from his dam, full sister to the international dressage horse, Flip, and the line goes back to the well known Greta stock. The dam line is characterized by a willingness to work, correctness and quality of movement. On his sire line we find the excellent jumping blood of Voltaire.

In 2008 at 18, still fit and sound Idocus is still competing and is attempting to get a berth to return to the Olympics this summer. Also attempting to qualify is one of his sons Oliver (Owillie) (www.elisabethaustin.com/horse.html and www.imajica.net/olivier.html) proof that his talent passes on.
